The UC Berkeley Timber-Strong team is the newest student competition team focusing on sustainable wood construction. We design and build a two-story, light-framed wood structure, supported by BIM models, construction documents, structural analysis and sustainability analysis. After assembling our structure in a 90-minute competition, we either donate our structure for charity or use the lumber to make community projects. Our team offers first-hand experience with construction methods, structural design, and project management. No previous experience in structural design, construction, or architecture is required!
